This poem originally featured as a poetic interlude in my lyrical essay surrender. I felt like it also deserved its own home.
poetry recitation
ð“„¼ i will swim in the pools at the bottom of your eyes ð“„¼
it’s okay
let the wave of water swell
i will swim in the pools
at the bottom of your eyes
i know it’s scary
to topple over the waterfall
but my love, the clouds in your mind
can only hold so much
your muscles don’t always
need to be tense
even the sky gets softer
at the end of each day
please don’t stop your tears
from returning to the ocean
one day i will drink
the sadness that leaks from your heart
there’s no need to hide darling
like any lake, you are a body of water
i will stay through the flood
because it’s my water too
embodied poetry meditations
I’m on the Insight Timer app! If you would like to meditate with me, soothe your nervous system and invite poetics into the body then click the button below. I currently have two practices:
♡ resting in the back of the heart
a heart balm for sensitive souls
♡ tending to your precious self
for remembering your inherent worth & giving yourself the tender love and care you deserve
Thank you, just thank you🩷🩷🩷
This will always be one of my favourite poems you have written, from one of my favourite essays you have written! I am so happy to see that my favourite lines in the poem are also the title you have chosen for this poem. Absolutely gorgeous and such a balm for the heart <3 <3 <3
