poetry recitation
☾ sunset ☾
sun soaked koala leaves
shimmer above the horizon
melting into sherbet tangerine
sliding down bluebell petals
patchwork pixies
wrapped around you
saying farewell to the light
at four in the afternoon
once the branches
are no longer
illuminated in gold
everything so suddenly
becomes like cold noses
your frozen hands
fill you with
joy
his warmth
can now hold them
˚☾ civil dusk ☾ ˚
the clouds are dipped
in lemon lollipops
like the mirage of a sundress
flowing teasing and soft
billowing bush smoke
perfumes your hair
the kingfisher flame
adorns the sun
on your fingertips
the scent of eucalypt
as you throw on kindling
because home is this southern land
where your ancestors dreamed
。˚☾ nautical dusk ☾ ˚。
the twinkling kookaburra
watches over you
with his feathers of milky chocolate
and foaming cream
your new friend
enjoys your warm symphony
overlooking the kangaroos
down in the gully
as you breathe the rainforest scent
the joey snuggles
into her mother’s pouch
and the sky tastes like peaches tonight
⋆。˚☾ astronomical dusk ☾ ˚。⋆
forts built with woven blankets
hung over chairs like tapestry
sighs amongst the ambiance
of movies in japanese
your ponytail
a sea of embers
wrapped around his neck
like a scarf
the night swims
and the midnight bath
of silver stars
begin to laugh
while the poets in the north
dance underneath the sun
you sleep on the moon
in sapphire blue
⋆。˚𖤓 astronomical dawn 𖤓˚。⋆
rolling verdant memories
blanket the mossy, misty hills
raining through ravines
the edges of the soil
the bark thickens
around a prism
of sweetness
hidden rainbows rest
just waiting to explode
so you linger in this eternity
of kissing along the line of his jaw
。˚𖤓 nautical dawn 𖤓˚。
cinnamon in your tea
early morning frost
covers the ground
the sleepy sunbeams
make the grass sparkle
please don’t melt
you see the faraway gum trees
touching the sky
with a sway
and the way
the leaves
s h i v e r
your eyes
are four years old again
˚𖤓 civil dawn 𖤓˚
windy pirouettes
the crunch of footsteps
on winter leaves
wet dewy grass
sneaking into your shoes
tickling your feet
soaking your socks
with the laughter
of slip sliding on mud
it feels
like the very first time
𖤓 sunrise 𖤓
under lavender, strawberry skies
bathroom tiles perform
a leafy shadow dance
venus waters
sweeping over curves
in a scattering sunlight caress
your lover pulls you back
into his arms
while he is still deeply asleep
winter trees and reveries
reminding you
that there is magic
in letting the sky
see you naked.
SO beautiful 🥹 you poems never fail to be dreamy and transport me! So many beautiful pictures and similes here, that make this so magical✨
“ the clouds are dipped
in lemon lollipops
like the mirage of a sundress
flowing teasing and soft”
This was one of my favorites!
Your words make me yearn for a soft winter 🤍 thank you for sharing such a gorgeous piece☁️
Like Nadia, I too hope for a soft winter. But right now we are in peak summer (or at least it feels that way) It's so interesting to read about the complete opposite and how you capture the magnificent beauty that is winter and how special the sun becomes. These were a few of my fave lines:
the sleepy sunbeams
make the grass sparkle
please don’t melt
you see the faraway gum trees
touching the sky
with a sway
and the way
the leaves
s h i v e r
and this one: and the sky tastes like peaches tonight
just because I love peaches and they're in season and I can only imagine what it's like to kiss and taste the sky ☁️✨🪩❣️
