As you know I adore this poem! It feels like an unraveling of love’s intensity, so beautiful, raw, and painful. The imagery of ribbons as both bond and burden captures the way love can feel like soft silk and cutting constraint at once. Your words carry such a deep tenderness, willing to give everything, even to be hurt, just for the chance to hold space for them. It’s a hauntingly gorgeous reminder of how love can expand us, yet sometimes demand we shrink. Thank you for sharing this my betrothal friend, it is truly stunning🎀💝

Thank you so much my beautiful friend! I love the imagery of love’s intensity unravelling like a roll of ribbon. Your feedback always means the world to me.

Bond and burden are such good words to describe the juxtaposition of the ribbon metaphor in this piece, you get me 🥲

Thank you for these beautiful and poetic reflections!! 🎀🎀

Dear Jennae, this is such a profound work of art - the words "poetic viscerality" came to my mind. The interchanging and intertwining imagery of ribbons and bones are haunting in their ache, melancholy and delicate beauty, and the way they come together all at once. And of course, I couldn't help but be drawn to uncoding the secret message hidden among the words in your poem (as I always am!), which fleshes out the complexity and paradox of a love that causes us pain but also teaches us the meaning of growth and freedom. It adds to the poignancy of it all. Thank you for sharing your heart with us in this powerful way!

omg Jennae... this poem! I felt like I was wrapped up into all of it... I can't even describe the journey I went through while reading this, feeling such heaviness at the saltwater flood, the tightening of ribbons to restrict your expansion...

"That I would hold

my rib cage

in my hands.

Breathe more room

for my love for you.

Like a dandelion wish." - this was my favorite part, your breath... it's as if it was so stifled that the only way you could breathe is to literally blow oxygen into them... and the dandelion wish, wishing for something that could be not for something that is right in front of you...

Jennae, there are tears in my eyes now...deep, profound. Your poetry is… well, you know what do all the people say, all the people that truly love you and can appreciate what is beauty. I will never stop reminding to the world, with my humble voice, to elevate your words, your art, and your being up to the sky, to the heavens where you belong. I am astonished by how you’re able to transmute the draining of those tight ribbons into something so sublime, so inspiring for others, so heart-soothing and healing. There is no bit of dummy in you—you are a bright, stunningly creative mind, a powerful, courageous, and utterly sensitive heart, and a woman to admire forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever. You are eternal, and your heart is mighty. And the world is grateful for your writing and for you

Forrest, thank you so much for always reading. It always seems like you know exactly which words need to be said.

Your kindness and support is truly like the underground network that connects all the trees in the forest. Bringing them together and reminding them that they are not seperate.

The way you uplift others is so inspiring, I feel as though you craft and gift wings to everyone here.

Thank you for seeing me and my poetry, for acknowledging the transmutation of pain. I am so grateful that you exist 🎀🤍
